Practice Overview

In the Health Law area, Mr. Campbell represents health care providers in the creation, operation, licensure and termination of health care joint ventures, such as ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic centers and other free-standing facilities; the development, construction and licensure of health care facilities, including hospitals, outpatient facilities, medical office buildings and support/administrative facilities; the organization and syndication of special purpose entities to own and manage real properties, and the creation of alternative real property ownership and occupancy structures; the acquisition, sale or leasing of health care related facilities; corporate and organizational governance, board/governing body responsibilities, conflicts of interest, and medical staff credentialing and related issues; and regulatory compliance efforts involving analysis of Stark, federal fraud and abuse law, laws affecting nonprofit and tax-exempt entities, Medicare/TennCare requirements, and state laws affecting health care providers.

In other areas, Mr. Campbell represents businesses and their principals in the creation of business entities and the negotiation of the agreements that govern the operation of the business and the relationships of the principals; the acquisition and disposition of business interests by individuals; and mergers and acquisitions involving multiple business entities.  Mr. Campbell also represents developers, contractors and real estate professionals in the acquisition, development and management/leasing of real properties, including waterfront and marina developments on or near TVA reservoirs, and on matters relative to zoning and land use planning.
